Whiskey Ranch Bar and Grill Emerges as Starkville’s Newest Hotspot

New Whiskey Bar and Grill Opens in Starkville

Located on Main Street in the former premises of Moe’s Barbecue, Starkville’s newest hotspot, the Whiskey Ranch Bar and Grill, is set to open in time for the 2024 football season. The bar and grill, which promises a Nashville-style atmosphere combined with delicious Southern-style dishes, is owned and operated by Finn Rice. Despite his allegiance to TSUN (or Ole Miss), Rice has affirmed his love for Starkville and looks to become part of the city’s vibrant community.

Born and raised in Fryeburg, Maine, Rice enlisted in the Army at the age of 18. After serving, he made his way to Mississippi to pursue a degree in business administration, working in the restaurant industry to put himself through college. Recognizing the potential in a prime restaurant location in Starkville, Rice decided to tap into his love for the industry and open his own restaurant.

Nashville Vibe with Southern Dishes

Whiskey Ranch promises a vibrant mix of live local bands and mouthwatering Southern dishes, including blackened catfish, jerk chicken, and Mississippi poutine – French fries smothered in Cajun gravy and cheese. Whiskey will understandably be the drink of choice, with the bar offering a wide variety of brands, flights, and specials. Even pickle martinis are on the menu.

Whiskey Ranch is currently in the throes of renovation, including painting, re-staining, bathroom remodeling and even the addition of a brand-new bar. Once open, the restaurant will host families during food service hours, before transforming into a 21-and-over bar for the evening crowd.

Other Business Developments in Starkville

Meanwhile, Starkville’s local coffee shop, Umble Coffee Co. is expanding with a new location on the Mississippi State University campus. The new branch will open in mid-August and is set to serve a range of caffeinated delights popular with students and faculty alike.

New Addition to Columbus

In other Mississippi news, a new restaurant has opened its doors in Columbus. Phat Ma’s, located on Tuscaloosa Road, is the brainchild of Nashville native Shawnna Washington, offering a varied menu from breakfast to dinner, and late at night. With an inviting, friendly atmosphere, the new restaurant is already seeing support from the local community.

A New Real Estate Company in Town

In business news, Ashley McGregory has launched a real estate company named B.O.S.S Realty. Offering services in buying and selling homes, commercial buildings, and land, B.O.S.S Realty is yet another welcome addition to the town’s business sector. Despite the rollercoaster of emotions associated with start-ups, McGregory expressed her excitement at the journey ahead on social media.
