In a night filled with excitement and anticipation, Vicksburg celebrated the crowning of Sarah Randolph as Miss Mississippi State University 2025. The pageant took place on Thursday night, showcasing both talent and poise as contestants competed for the prestigious title, which serves as a preliminary event for Miss Mississippi and Miss America.
For Sarah Randolph, this victory is the culmination of hard work and perseverance. A senior majoring in biological sciences, she previously claimed the title of first alternate in the 2023 Miss MSU pageant. Her journey didn’t stop there; she also participated in the 2024 Miss Mississippi competition in Vicksburg last June as Miss Heart of the South. In that event, she tied with Madison Belk, Miss Lafayette County, during the evening gown preliminary phase. Ultimately, she was named a runner-up to Miss Mississippi, alongside fellow contestant Morgan Nelson from Vicksburg.
“It was unbelievable every time I heard my name,” recalled Randolph on her experience in June. “I was just thanking God for everything. From being in the top 15 last year, not even making it into the top 10 competing in my first year, it showed me that hard work and dedication goes a long way.” Randolph’s determination and growth throughout the process have been inspiring to those around her.
Crowd members gathered, filling the venue with buzzing energy, eager to support their favorite contestants. As the evening unfolded, audiences were treated to incredible performances, showcasing the participants’ talents ranging from singing to dancing and more. It wasn’t just a competition for the crown—it was a celebration of community and commitment.
As the pageant reached its climax, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. With anticipation hanging thick in the air, the previous year’s titleholder, Miss MSU 2024, took to the stage to crown the new queen, Sarah Randolph. In a heartfelt ceremony, Randolph was officially crowned, marking a new chapter in her journey.
Winning the title of Miss MSU comes with substantial rewards. The new Miss MSU receives a full-tuition scholarship, which can significantly ease the financial burden of college education. The excitement doesn’t end there, as the runners-up also receive scholarships: the first alternate takes home $1,000, the second runner-up $750, and the third runner-up $500. These funds are not only a token of appreciation but also a testament to the importance of education in the realm of pageantry.
With her sights set on future competitions, Sarah is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. She expressed her gratitude towards the Miss MSU organization, emphasizing how it has fostered her personal growth and strengthened her self-belief. Her journey is a reminder to all that with hard work, dedication, and a supportive community, dreams can indeed become a reality.
The town of Vicksburg stands proud, knowing they have a remarkable ambassador representing their community. The journey ahead is filled with promise, and for those watching, it’s just the beginning of what’s sure to be an incredible experience for Sarah Randolph, Miss Mississippi State University 2025.
