STARKVILLE, Miss. – Starkville recently held ‘Starkville in the Spotlight’, a significant event catering to its residents. The occasion was aimed to offer resources to help the local populace with different assistance and services. More than 80 vendors participated in the event, having face to face interaction with residents at the Starkville Sportsplex.
The city witnessed the participation of various businesses, volunteers and educational organizations. All were prepared to attend to the queries from people of diverse age groups. It was not just restricted to private entities. City and county agencies too were represented at the event, making it a comprehensive one-stop-shop for resources needed by Starkville residents.
This is the second year that the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District’s Discovery Center has hosted this event. The initiative comes as a combined effort to provide resources to the inhabitants of Starkville and promote communal harmony and welfare.
The event proved to be a beneficial platform for residents as they got the opportunity to interact directly with service providers, effectively bridging the gap between demand and supply of resources.
