Early Morning Shooting in Starkville Leads to Arrest on Aggravated Assault and Drug Charges

In a chilling track of events that took place in the city of Starkville, a man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute. This arrest was a result of an early morning shooting incident that happened at Ferndale Apartments on Lynn Lane.

Details of the Incident

As per the information corroborated, the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Danterius Nichols, was taken into custody without further incident.

Details available suggest that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed due to patient confidentiality laws, was immediately flown out of the area to undergo emergency treatment. Investigations suggest that this was not a random act of violence, and it came to light that Nichols and the victim were known to each other prior to this incident. Currently, Nichols is being held at the Oktibbeha County Jail.
