In a promising development for local shoppers, international tools and equipment retail giant Harbor Freight has recently applied for a building permit for a new store location in Starkville. This California-based business boasts more than 1,500 locations spread throughout the nation and offers more than 7,500 tools and products to its customers.
The store will reportedly be based in the place of the soon-to-be-closed Home Store Furnishings, located at 311 Hwy. 12 W. in the Middleton Court shopping center.
The city appears to be undergoing a period of significant business change and redevelopment, as confirmed by the 929 Coffee Bar, which served its last latte at 106 E. Main St. recently. The company announced online that it would be moving to a new location, details of which will be announced soon.
In similarly uplifting news, local restaurant The Breakfast Club will be returning to its original location at 105 Eckford Drive, further enriching the city’s culinary scene. The restaurant will start serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week once its doors open.
Meanwhile, another local favorite, The Joint, has also announced it will be moving to the Jackson area. The owners plan to reopen in the Ridgeland area by next summer, marking exciting new horizons for the popular eatery.
Mississippi-based jewelry brand Xover0 is set for its Netflix film debut in “Uglies.” The film’s star, Joey King, can be seen wearing one of the company’s signature necklaces, the geohart pendant. The company has expressed great excitement and pride at this opportunity to showcase the craftsmanship of Mississippi.
Sources suggest that West Coast Furniture Framers, a company originally based in California, may soon call Starkville their home. The company’s owner, Javier Galiana, recently purchased a property at 605 17th St. S. and reportedly plans to start operations on a large scale in the area in the coming months. The company is known for its affordable rates and high-quality products, having been in the furniture industry for over 14 years.
With businesses moving in and exciting prospects on the horizon, Starkville is currently experiencing a wave of development that will provide an influx of fresh options for residents and visitors alike. As each of these exciting projects progresses, local consumers can look forward to having an even wider array of choices for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
