According to local law enforcement, the suspect is 23-year-old Travonte Dixon. He allegedly walked into Hibbett Sports in the quiet Sunday afternoon with a butcher knife concealed in his pants. Reports indicate that Dixon displayed the butcher knife to store employees and insisted they place items on the counter.

However, when another customer entered the store, Dixon reportedly exited, and the store employees wisely locked the door behind him, alerting the police to the incident immediately.

While officers were on the prowl hunting Dixon, he made an unexpected move – he returned to the store. Try as he may, the young man could not gain entry into the locked sports shop. With the police close by, he was quickly apprehended.

Dixon was formally charged with attempted armed robbery. Following its set legal procedures, West Point law enforcement set his bond at $100,000. The employees and customers at Hibbett Sports were left unharmed in the incident.
