He was also a prominent figure in The Unity Park Committee. This public space serves as a commemoration to civil rights trailblazers in Oktibbeha County and the state of Mississippi at large. Taylor’s efforts on the committee have contributed to long-standing recognition for those who dared to stand against racism and segregation.

His Military Services

Christopher Taylor, a retired Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army, fought on several fronts for his country. His bravery traversed the terrains of Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, marking a military career that spanned several years and continents.

Veteran’s Activities Post Military

After his military service, he stayed engaged in community service through his extensive work with the American Red Cross and the American Legion Post 240. He also worked with Bridges out of Poverty, lending his religious spirit and leadership to alleviate financial hardships faced by many, reflecting his keen sense to serve the needy.
