Reid Named Interim Director of Starkville Area Arts Council

In an exciting development in the Starkville art scene, Juliette Reid has been appointed as the interim executive director of the Starkville Area Arts Council (SAAC). This fresh announcement follows the departure of the former executive director, Mary Switzer.

An Exciting New Chapter

Reid, who joined the council as an intern in 2019, expressed excitement over her new role. Her appointment marks a new chapter in the council’s history; one filled with growth, innovation, and plenty of new creative ideas. Under Reid’s leadership, the council is expected to bring a renewed energy to the ever-evolving art scene of Starkville.

I’m really excited to continue with the arts council as the interim executive director“, Reid said. “We’re excited to hit the ground running and bring some new fresh ideas and events to Starkville and our ever-growing arts community.”

Anticipation Surrounding the New AiPP Exhibit

The Starkville Area Arts Council is also in the process of completing renovations at their new space, which they share with Proof, a local creative hub. The refurbished space will feature the first-ever AiPP exhibit. The opening of this new, innovative exhibit is set for September 23, with an opening reception following on September 28. The exhibit promises to be a treat for local artists and art-lovers alike, contributing to the flourishing arts scene in the region.

High Hope for The Future

With Reid at the helm, the Starkville Area Arts Council is looking forward to a period of sustained growth and innovation. Her dedication and enthusiasm to the arts, which she displayed during her time as an intern, combined with her fresh ideas for the future, promise a flourishing era for the SAAC. She steps into her role with the council eager to welcome the challenges ahead.
