Local Students Shine Bright at Mississippi State’s Annual College of Forest Resources Awards Ceremony

STARKVILLE — The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture at Mississippi State University recently celebrated the achievements of promising students at its annual College of Forest Resources awards ceremony. The department acknowledged superior academic achievements and noteworthy leadership efforts undertaken by both undergraduate and graduate students.

Outstanding Undergraduate Award and More for Starkville Senior

Among the honored students was Grant Peterson, a senior from Starkville. Peterson showcased his academic prowess by receiving the Outstanding Undergraduate Award as well as the Senior Academic Achievement Award. His exceptional record did not stop at academics, as he was also the recipient of the 2023 Udall Scholarship, further highlighting his determination and commitment to his studies.

Leadership Recognition Program Award Goes to Starkville Doctoral Student

Recognizing leadership potential among its students, the department awarded the Student Leadership Recognition Program Award to Emma Shultz.
