On a somber Tuesday evening, the streets of Starkville became the scene of a devastating motorcycle accident. At around 5 p.m., the Starkville Police Department received a distressing call regarding a crash that occurred on Highway 12 at the intersection of Russell Street and Stone Boulevard. The aftermath was heartbreaking as Samuel Alan Shirley, a 31-year-old from Blytheville, Arkansas, lost his life due to this unfortunate incident.
Following the crash, emergency responders quickly transported Shirley to OCH Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident also required medical attention. Fortunately, this individual was treated for minor injuries and is expected to recover.
The Starkville Police have initiated an accident reconstruction to gather more details about what led to this tragic event. As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and officials are working diligently to piece together the events of the day.
