Tragedy Strikes Starkville: Motorcycle Accident Claims Life

At around 5 p.m., the Starkville Police Department received a distressing call regarding a crash that occurred on Highway 12 at the intersection of Russell Street and Stone Boulevard. The aftermath was heartbreaking as Samuel Alan Shirley, a 31-year-old from Blytheville, Arkansas, lost his life due to this unfortunate incident.

Following the crash, emergency responders quickly transported Shirley to OCH Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident also required medical attention. Fortunately, this individual was treated for minor injuries and is expected to recover.
