The competition was fierce with 25 talented contestants vying for the coveted title of Miss Yellow Jacket, highlighting not only beauty but also talent and community involvement.
In a night filled with glamour, Anna Wyatt Ford, a junior at Starkville High, secured her place in local history by being crowned the 2025 Miss Yellow Jacket. Anna is the daughter of Bill and Susan Ford, and she has already made waves during her time at Starkville High. Not only is she the Junior Class Representative on the SHS Student Council, but she’s also a dedicated member of the Varsity Tennis Team for five years. Her involvement doesn’t stop there; she is a proud member of several honor societies, including the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, the BETA Club, and the Crown Club.
Her heart for community service is evident as she volunteers at the Casserole Kitchen at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Here, Anna serves meals and fosters a sense of community among locals. She has also been elected to represent her church youth group at the upcoming 2025 Annual Council. But that’s not all! Anna has secured a modeling contract with the prestigious Ursula Weidmann Agency in Atlanta, showcasing her versatility beyond school walls.
Apart from her many commitments, Anna enjoys spending her free time drawing and traveling, indulging in hobbies that let her express her creativity and passion for exploration. Looking down the road, she has ambitious plans to enter the medical field, aiming to become a physician’s assistant. With intentions to attend either Mississippi State University or the University of Mississippi after graduating high school, Anna is already setting the groundwork for a promising career.
The excitement didn’t just end with the crowning of Miss Yellow Jacket. The judges named a total of four alternates: Mary Margaret Powell as the 1st Alternate, Margaret Ann Sullivan as the 2nd Alternate, Emily Stephens as the 3rd Alternate, and Mary Frances Whatley as the 4th Alternate.
