Starkville in High Spirits as Grammy Winner John Paul White Ignites Mississippi State with Performance

Surrounded by an air of anticipation and excitement, the city of Starkville prepares for a pulsing heart-to-heart musical journey as Grammy-winning artist John Paul White is slated to perform at Mississippi State University (MSU) this fall. Known for his unique blend of Southern rock, Americana, and country music, White will brighten up the stage at the Hump on October 18th. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. while the performance kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Starkville-MSU Symphony Orchestra to Elevate the Ambiance

Alongside White’s magnetic act, the Starkville-MSU Symphony Orchestra will be an inevitable partner, promising to magnify the lush musical ambience. Daniel Stevens, the head of the MSU Department of Music, will act as a cover conductor. Stevens, being a long-time friend of White’s, expressed his anticipated joy for the upcoming music night, saying, “We all know how enjoyable one of John Paul’s concerts can be, and with the complements of the orchestra his music is magnified,”. He further encouraged music lovers from all ages and corners to be a part of this rare performance.

John Paul White: A Luminous Journey

The Alabama born singer-songwriter, White, has been gracing the music industry through his incredible talent and heartfelt compositions. As a former member of The Civil Wars, White won multiple Grammys, and was thrown into limelight with his 2009 EP “Poison and Wine”. The title track of the EP came into the limelight when featured in the sixth season of the long-running TV show “Grey’s Anatomy.”

White’s reputation escalated when he co-wrote lyrics with superstar Taylor Swift for her song “Safe and Sound” for “The Hunger Games” soundtrack. The song was a massive hit, and it bagged the 2011 Grammy for the Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Concert Tickets and More

Tickets for the event are accessible for everyone. Students can get their free seats online or in person at MSU’s Center for Student Activities, Colvard Student Union, on the third floor. Non-students can purchase individual tickets online.

This spectacular night will be a memorable one, providing people the opportunity to enjoy quality music performance by the accomplished artist, John Paul White. Along with the harmonious rhythms from the Starkville-MSU Symphony orchestra, this night is sure to create a lasting musical memory in everyone’s heart.
