Starkville Hails Alumni and Community to the MSU Homecoming Extravaganza

The Mississippi State University (MSU) Alumni Association is excited to bring to you the 2024 edition of the Homecoming, slated to take place from October 31 to November 3. This year’s event is dedicated to celebrating the spirit of MSU and the vibrant Starkville community. The homecoming brings together not only the students and the alumni but also their families, making it a weekend of enjoyment, nostalgia, and football.

Community Deliverance of Unforgettable Experience

Jeff Davis, MSU Alumni Association Executive Director expressed his excitement at collaborating with the Greater Starkville Development Partnership to create a memorable homecoming. Davis invites alumni and friends to relive their time at State, experience the campus, and Starkville, and create new memories as they reconnect with MSU and other Bulldogs. This promise to reunite the community in a fun-filled weekend full of various events and activities signals an exhilarating Homecoming in store.

Events Kicking off the Celebrations

The Homecoming celebrations kick off on Thursday, October 31, with the Young Alumni Welcome to the City event taking place at Fire Station Park. Following this, a slew of events is scheduled throughout the weekend, ensuring fun and engaging activities for all age groups and interests.

Scheduled Programs for the Weekend

Friday, November 1:

The day starts with admissions tours for prospective students who get an opportunity to learn about the range of academic programs MSU offers. Visitors can also tour the University’s prestigious collections at the Ulysses S Grant Presidential Library, Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana, Dunn-Seiler Museum, Mississippi Entomological Museum, and the John Grisham Room. The much-loved MAFES Cheese Store opens its doors to visitors on both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday, November 2:

Football aficionados can look forward to the Homecoming and Family Weekend game, where they can cheer for the Bulldogs while also celebrating the presentation of the Homecoming Court. The day includes a tailgating event at The Mill and the opportunity to reunite with past batchmates.

Sunday, November 3:

A nondenominational service will take place at the Chapel of Memories, followed by a brunch and browsing event organized downtown by the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
