Harbor Freight Plans New Location in Starkville

Harbor Freight, a well-known tool and equipment retailer, has plans in motion to open a new store in Starkville. The company has lodged a building permit that is currently under examination. Eager DIY enthusiasts and weekend warriors in Starkville have much to look forward to as their beloved tool haven will be making its way into their neighborhood soon.

The new Harbor Freight establishment is set to replace the outgoing Home Store Furnishings at 311 Hwy. 12 W. in the Middleton Court shopping center. Originating from California, Harbor Freight boasts over 1,500 locations spread across the nation. The retailer has an impressive catalog of more than 7,500 tool and equipment products.

Other Businesses on the Move

Businesses in Starkville continue to relocate and reimagine. 929 Coffee Bar, known for its delightful lattes, served its last drink at 106 E. Main St. last Saturday. However, it’s not a signal of closure, but rather of a move. The company confirmed that details about the new location would be released soon.

The Breakfast Club (TBC), a popular breakfast and lunch spot, is also making a move back to its original location at 105 Eckford Drive. The establishment had announced that they would be shutting down operations at the Research Park outlet, with plans to resume at the Eckford Drive location soon. Once reopened, TBC plans to serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week.

Jewelry Brand Xover0 in the Spotlight

Mississippi-based jewelry brand Xover0 will be making its Netflix debut soon. Joey King, the lead actor in the upcoming film “Uglies,” will be adorning one of the company’s signature pieces, the geohart pendant, in the film. The jewelry company, established in 2016, relocated to Starkville in 2019. This exposure is expected to shine a light on the craftsmanship of Mississippi and bring attention to the state’s creative industry.

Possible Furniture Manufacturer’s Move to Mississippi

West Coast Furniture Framers, previously located in California, might be relocating to Starkville. The owner has reportedly purchased the former American Trouser property at 605 17th St. S. It is believed that the company will initiate interviews and operations in the coming months. The property, which sprawls over more than 11 acres and houses buildings totaling 162,000 square feet, shut down over two decades ago. Updates on developments at the site are anticipated in due course.

Week after week, it’s evident that Starkville is buzzing with commercial activity.
