Starkville, Mississippi, is buzzing with excitement as Mississippi State University (MSU) announces an additional commencement ceremony for Spring 2025. This decision comes in response to the growing number of graduates at the Starkville campus.
The university has officially scheduled two separate days of ceremonies, which means even more opportunities for graduates to don their caps and gowns and mark this significant milestone. On May 15 and 16, 2025, MSU will be hosting both morning and afternoon ceremonies at the Humphrey Coliseum.
Here’s how the schedule breaks down:
On May 13, there will be hooding ceremonies for Ph.D. students from the College of Veterinary Medicine and other university-wide Ph.D. recipients. These will take place at 11:30 a.m. in Humphrey Coliseum, and again at 4:00 p.m. in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium.
MSU-Meridian will also be hosting its graduation ceremony on May 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the MSU Riley Center.
Graduation is not just a ceremony; it’s a culmination of hard work, late nights, and countless sacrifices. The addition of these extra ceremonies allows for a more personalized experience for graduates and their families.
With these events looming on the horizon, MSU is gearing up to welcome back families and friends who will come to celebrate their loved ones. It’s a time filled with cheers, joy, and maybe a few happy tears as graduates reflect on their journey and step into their next chapter.
Graduation season in Starkville is shaping up to be something special in 2025. With two days packed with ceremonies, the university is ensuring that every graduate feels celebrated and acknowledged.
