Ernest Set to Light up the Stage at 13th Annual Cowbell Yell

In Starkville, Mississippi, excitement is swelling as the 13th Annual Cowbell Yell, a grand spectacle of fun and football fever, is about to kick-off the new season at Mississippi State. Titillating all fans even more is the announcement that Ernest, a well-known singer-songwriter, will grace the stage at the event on August 30, 2024.

Fan Fest and Performances

The Cowbell Yell, an anticipated annual event, promises an early evening line-up chalk-full of entertainment preceded by Fan Fest. The Fan Fest, biggest crowd-puller sponsored by Coca-Cola, will begin at 5:30 p.m. The audience will be treated to a string of performances including ones by Ernest and DJ KUJHO, along with acts from the Famous Maroon Band, enthusiastic spirit squads, and NFL alumni. The crowning glory of the night would undoubtedly be the fireworks display at the Junction that would bring the evening to a grand conclusion.

Ernest Takes the Lead – From Wallen to Malone

Ernest, who hit the charts in 2021 with his duet with singer Morgan Wallen, “Flower Shops,” will headline the Cowbell Yell. His talent is prominently showcased in his co-produced track “I Had Some Help” sung by Post Malone and Wallen. The hit track has made history, holding the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for the lion’s share of 2024.

Parking and Preparations for the Event

Fans attending the Cowbell Yell can park their vehicles for free in the parking lots surrounding Davis Wade Stadium. However, vehicles should be moved after the event draws to a close. The designated lots for parking are Newell Grissom – Lot 5, Barnes and Noble – Lot 18, Dorman Hall – Lot 11, and lots 7 and 19.

In the pulsating anticipation of the football season opener against Eastern Kentucky, the audience is encouraged to bring along their cowbells. The thrilling match on Saturday, Aug. 31, kick-starts at 5:00 p.m. in Davis Wade Stadium.

Cowbell Yell – An Event for All

The Cowbell Yell is not just for students; it is a free event open to all, including faculty, staff, fans, and community members. It serves as a phenomenal stage to build the atmosphere for the upcoming football season, uniting the entire Mississippi State community under one electric sky.
