In a significant development aimed at enhancing the student-athlete experience at the university, Mississippi State Athletics and the Bulldog Club announced the formation of the Cristil Society, a philanthropic giving group.
The Cristil Society is named in memory of the legendary voice of the Bulldogs, the late Jack Cristil, who was a cornerstone in MSU radio booths for over 50 years. With this initiative, contributions to the Bulldog Club are expected to provide resources for 16 sport programs that support more than 400 student-athletes.
Investments made to the Cristil Society can be directed towards the holistic student-athlete experience, facility enhancements and scholarships. The establishment of the Cristil Society is designed to recognize Bulldog Club members whose commitments exceed their priority seating contributions.
The Cristil Society will include distinguished Bulldog Club members who commit $25,000 or more as a direct investment in Mississippi State Athletics. The overarching goal is to strengthen the athletic program and, consequently, the general student experience at MSU.
Director of Athletics Zac Selmon emphasized the significance of the initiative while speaking about the landscape of college athletics and the intention of MSU. “We will provide transformational experiences. We will equip our young people with tools for life. They will earn college degrees, and we will keep winning at the forefront in all that we do,” said Selmon.
He expressed his excitement about celebrating and recognizing loyal and committed Bulldog Club members who go above and beyond in supporting the university’s mission through the Cristil Society, honoring the exceptional legacy left behind by Jack Cristil.
As preparations are underway for the 2024 game day traffic, this initiative could provide additional resources to help the university deliver more thrilling athletic experiences. This philanthropic move is a positive shift in the athletic culture at MSU, re-emphasizing the university’s commitment to its student-athletes and their overall experience during their tenure at the University
