Exciting Developments in Starkville and Beyond: New Restaurant Openings and Community Celebrations

Exciting News Hits Starkville: Connie’s Chicken is Coming to Town!

Starkville has some mouth-watering news because a delicious new restaurant is on the way. Connie’s Chicken has officially filed a permit for the cozy spot previously occupied by Chicken Salad Chick at 602 Hwy. 12. If you haven’t heard of Connie’s Chicken yet, let me fill you in!

A Culinary Journey Begins

This beloved eatery, a real gem that hails from Tupelo, has become a go-to favorite for locals, serving up some of the best chicken dishes around. They’ve already expanded their presence to places like Oxford and West Point, and now it’s Starkville’s turn to join the culinary adventure!

What’s Cooking at Connie’s?

Prepare yourself for a variety of scrumptious options! Think tenders, chicken sandwiches, bone-in chicken, and even country-fried steak that’ll make your taste buds tingle. And, if that doesn’t get you excited, wait until you hear about Connie’s famous blueberry donuts. Yummy!

Unfortunately, our inquiries to Connie’s Chicken representatives didn’t yield any extra information, but we’re sure they’ll be ready to serve some tasty eats soon!

Golden Horn Seafood and Fine Steaks Celebrates New Ownership!

Moving along Highway 82, there’s big news from Columbus as well! Golden Horn Seafood and Fine Steaks, located at 5286 N. Frontage Road, is rolling out the red carpet to celebrate its new owners with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Marcus and Liza West took on the restaurant recently, and they’re already making their mark.

A Personal Connection

This isn’t just a business venture for the Wests; it’s a family affair! Marcus started his journey at Golden Horn as a dishwasher during his high school days, and he’s held every position at the restaurant since. It’s heartwarming to see how their love for this community shines through their ownership.

What’s New at Golden Horn?

Many patrons might have noticed a few changes underway, like a fresh new logo, a revamped menu, and yummy complimentary bread and honey butter served before meals! They even have a special children’s menu to keep the little ones happy.

The Wests are also introducing SEC Saturdays, where football fans can enjoy cornhole, a bucket of beer, and Golden Horn specials during game days. Exciting changes are in the air!

Celebrating Careers in Construction Month

Shifting gears a bit, did you know that October is recognized as Careers in Construction Month in Mississippi? An organization of Golden Triangle companies is dedicated to highlighting this important industry. They’re hosting the fifth annual FORGE Your Path Career Expo at East Mississippi Community College’s Communiversity.

With more than 2,000 eighth-graders expected from 12 counties, this event will offer hands-on experiences in construction—a fantastic way to excite young minds about potential career paths!

New Kids on the Block in West Point

In West Point, there’s a new addition to the community! Elite Physical Therapy just had its ribbon-cutting at the Mossy Oak Outlet. This marks their third location in the Golden Triangle. Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, they’re ready to help folks feel their best!

Time to Embrace the Season!

As October brings in the cozy sweater weather, the Golden Triangle is buzzing with excitement and new adventures. Whether you’re heading to Connie’s Chicken, checking out the changes at Golden Horn, or exploring the new Elite Physical Therapy, there’s something for everyone!
