When the Columbus Police Department arrived at the scene, they found two victims—one was a 17-year-old who was quickly rushed to the hospital, while the other, identified as 16-year-old Marquez Carter Jr., tragically died at the scene.
The man arrested in connection with this heartbreaking event is Jakody Moore. He was taken into custody by the criminal investigation division on September 30. Alongside the murder charge, he faces additional charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Currently, Moore is being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center until his initial court appearance.
