Fifth Annual Christmas at the Mansion Announces Exciting Plans

Fifth Annual “Christmas at the Mansion” Announces Exciting Plans

Exciting news has emerged from Jackson, Mississippi, where plans have been announced for the upcoming fifth edition of “Christmas at the Mansion.” Governor Tate Reeves and First Lady Elee Reeves detailed that local businesses, florists, and designers would have a chance to showcase their talents for the festive event in the historic Mississippi Governor’s Mansion.

The Theme: “Made in Mississippi”

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Made in Mississippi”. This brilliant theme intends to highlight businesses across the state, spotlighting a variety of products and services that help boost the economy. A refreshing change from previous years, this theme emphasizes the hard work and innovation running through the veins of Mississippi’s business scene.

A Unique Decoration Contest

One of the key attractions of this year’s event is a competition that ‘puts the creativity of florists and decorators to test. Entrants have been invited to submit ideas and proposals that can transform the historic Governor’s Mansion into a Christmas wonderland! With the submissions deadline set for August 31, anticipation and expectations are high.

“We have already honored our heroes, first responders, our children, small towns, and communities across the state. This year we honor those who make things in Mississippi. The event is also much awaited by the Governor’s family. It is one of my favorite times to be in the governor’s mansion when Christmas is here ,” Governor Reeves said.

Notably, the festive event also brings with it a unique opportunity for families all across Mississippi. The central mansion, adorned in its festive glow, is opened, under the guidance of the Department of Archives and History, allowing folks to immerse themselves in the yuletide spirit while admiring the exquisite decorations.

Key Dates and Selection Process

Those interested in participating in the decoration competition should get their designs submitted by August 31. Following the deadline, a selection process will ensue during September when a designer will be picked who gets the honor of bringing their Christmas vision to life in the historic mansion.

Where to Send Your Proposals?

Interested designers can submit their proposals to the Chief of Staff, Ann Beard, and await an exciting September announcement. For more information, you are encouraged to send an email to Ann at ann.beard@govreeves.ms.gov.

In conclusion, Christmas in Mississippi seems set to be a festive extravaganza as the annual “Christmas at the Mansion” gears up for its fifth edition.
