Reward Increased for Information in Unresolved Carroll County Homicide

In new developments on a cold case, the bounty on information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprit in an unsettling Carroll County homicide has been increased.

The Tragic Incident

The victim, Kenneth “Kim” Daves, 53, from Black Hawk, was found murdered in the store he owned and operated with his family in the close-knit Carroll County community. This shocking incident came to light in July of 2015 when a customer discovered Daves’ lifeless body on the store premises.

Since then, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has been tirelessly investigating the case. Over the prolonged passage of time, they have managed to develop multiple leads, yet the case remains unresolved and the murderer at large.

Renewed Call for Public Assistance to Solve the Case

Sheriff Clint Walker of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department has made a solid move to rally public assistance in solving what seems like a daunting case. The Sheriff recently made a request to the Carroll County supervisors for an approval of a $10,000 reward to be distributed to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the criminal responsible for Daves’ murder.

Sheriff Walker, conscious of the fact that in many low-populated and tight-knit communities like theirs, there’s someone who knows something, addressed the supervisors in full confidence that there’s someone out there who holds the key piece of the puzzle that would unravel the case.

Support from Victim’s Family

The victim’s family stood by Sheriff Walker as he informed the supervisors about the proposed reward. Daves’ daughter Jessica Cortez also spoke to the supervisors, reflecting the family’s unyielding desire for justice.

Upon seeing the collective determination of the Sheriff’s Office and the family’s insistence on resolution, the Carroll County board gave unanimous approval to offer the reward of $10,000. This admirable gesture aimed at solving the case adds onto the $11,000 already being offered by the devastated family.

Total Reward Now Stands at $21,000

Together, these pledges sum up to a total reward of $21,000, available to anyone who can provide crucial information that results in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this atrocious crime.

Anyone with potentially crucial information has been urged to get in touch with Sheriff Clint Walker at 662-310-7233 or to call the Sheriff’s Office directly at 662-237-9283.

This significant reward increase serves as a reminder of the unyielding commitment to justice from the Sheriff’s Department and the unwavering resilience of Daves’ family in their quest for closure.

Community Effort

The case of Kim Daves’ murder is a harsh reminder that even in close-knit communities like Carroll County, the specter of crime can cast a long shadow. Unresolved cases such as this are a call to the community to rally together and support the tireless work of law enforcement. It is through unity and cooperation with law enforcement that such crimes can be solved and justice can finally be served.
