Cameron Lane Parker Passed Away At the Age of 48

Starkville, MS mourns the loss of its beloved citizen, Cameron Lane Parker, on July 21, 2024. This tragic event has impacted everyone in the community, but his memory will live on in the hearts of the people he has touched.

Life and Legacy

Born on September 19, 1975, to Linda and Hal Parker of Bolton, MS, Cameron was a passionate lover of his hometown. He shared a vibrant life with his wife, Dianna Parker, and their three children, Heath, Logan, and Riley.

Ardent memories from Cameron’s loved ones reveal a man of loving character, with a profound impact on his community. His devotion to his family was unmatched, and his unbounded love emanated resonantly through his life.

Fond Memories

Cameron’s memory will also live on in Starkville, the place he and Dianna chose to make their home. Known for his passion for the community, Cameron strived to make Starkville an inviting place to live and visit.

Beyond his community involvement, Cameron made his mark on Starkville, and indeed the wider Mississippi area, with his love for music, particularly vinyl records, and his remarkable culinary skills. One recollection of Cameron learned his cooking skills at a deer camp from a man named Frank Develle.

An avid outdoorsman, Cameron touched lives far and wide, making countless friends from all walks of life. His sincere affection for Mississippi State University, from which he graduated in 2018, remained strong throughout his life, as reflected in his unwavering support for MSU athletics.

Remembering a Loving Soul

In his passing, Cameron leaves behind his loving wife, Dianna, their three children, and his parents, Linda and Hal Parker. He is also remembered fondly by his brother, Brandon Parker (Laurie) of Brandon, MS, niece and nephew, Anna Payton and Brandon Hal, and the rest of his extended family.

Cameron was predeceased by his grandparents, Hattie and Roy Parker, Mary Catherine, and Leon Foran, as well as aunts and uncles including Joy Smith, Burley Smith, Terry Foran, Gene Gooch, and his cousin Patrick Neary.

Honoring Cameron

Although no public memorial service has been planned, a visitation for friends and family is set for Friday, August 9, 2024, at The Mill at MSU. The meet will take place between 3-6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the Parker family requests that donations be made to the Cameron Lane Parker Scholarship Fund at Mississippi State University. Donations can be made online or mailed to the MSU Foundation.

The sudden passing of Cameron has left a void in many hearts. Yet, his legacy continues through the countless lives he touched and in the shared memories from those closest to him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
