Arkansas Motorcyclist Claimed in Fatal Accident on Highway 12

A fatal road accident yesterday on Highway 12 near the entrance of Mississippi State University has claimed the life of Samuel Alan Shirley, a 31-year-old motorcyclist from Blytheville, Arkansas.

Collision Near University Entrance

According to Starkville police, Shirley was heading east on Highway 12 when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle attempting to turn at the Russell Street and Stone Boulevard intersection around 5 p.m. Both Shirley and the other driver were immediately transported to OCH Regional Medical Center following the accident.

A Tragic End

At the medical center, despite attempts to save him, Samuel Shirley was pronounced dead by Oktibbeha County Coroner, Michael Hunt. Meanwhile, the other driver involved in the accident was treated for minor injuries and was subsequently released.

Police Investigation and Call to Community

The Starkville police have initiated a meticulous investigation to comprehend the accident’s full circumstances. It is currently in progress, and further details have not been released to the public.

In light of this tragic occurrence, city officials and community leaders call upon the public to aid in maintaining road safety. They emphasize the importance of adhering to traffic laws and being mindful of other motorway users, especially motorcyclists, at all times.
