Ackerman Woman Dies in Starkville Highway Collision

An Ackerman resident tragically lost her life following a mid-day vehicle collision in Starkville, it has been confirmed.

STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI– A 24-year-old woman named Qenjada Weeks from Ackerman was tragically killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Starkville. The confirmation of the unfortunate incident was shared by the Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt.

Weeks was involved in the collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 182 and 82 just after noon on Monday. Following the incident, she was immediately rushed to the OCH Regional Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Sequence of Events

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was also admitted to OCH Regional Medical Center. Fortunately, the injuries they sustained were described as non life-threatening. The name of the second driver has not been disclosed in order to respect their privacy during this trying time.

What led to the devastating accident and the specific details surrounding the event capture remain unclear at this point. Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) is actively investigating the crash in a bid to establish the precise cause. However, as of the latest update, MHP Sgt. Derrick Beckom has not been able to confirm the cause of the crash.
