Excitement Builds for Christmas Parades in the Golden Triangle!
As the holiday season approaches, the cities of the Golden Triangle are gearing up for a festive tradition that puts everyone in the holiday spirit: Christmas parades! From Starkville to Columbus and beyond, residents are ready to celebrate with joy, laughter, and of course, some dazzling floats!
Starkville Kicks Off the Festivities
First up on the parade calendar is the Starkville Christmas Parade, happening at 6 p.m. on Monday along Main Street. This year’s theme, “Christmas Royale,” promises to bring plenty of sparkle and cheer. The parade will be grandly led by former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt as the grand marshal! The Christmas parade is such a special event and wouldn’t be possible without a sponsor.
Excitement is in the air! There are 80 applicants this year, pushing the parade to be featured on more broadcast channels than ever before. It sounds like it’s going to be a truly magical evening celebrating all things winter wonder!
Columbus Keeps the Cheer Rolling
But wait, the fun doesn’t end there! The following night, on Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Columbus Christmas Parade will light up the night with its theme, “A Merry Musical Christmas.” This delightful observance will feature MSMS Music Educator Dawn Barham as the grand marshal. The Columbus Christmas Parade, a long-time favorite downtown tradition, is always a fabulous event which gets the entire community in the festive holiday spirit.
This year will showcase all five area bands and a record number of participants. Get ready for some amazing music and performances as the parade makes its way through downtown!
Caledonia and West Point Join the Fun
Next up, the tiny but vibrant town of Caledonia will host its own festive gathering on December 7 at 6 p.m. The theme this year is “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like A Caledonia Christmas,” and the parade will kick off at Caledonia Elementary. The lineup will commence at 4 p.m., with judging at 4:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to join in on the festivities!
West Point’s Christmas parade is set for December 9 at 6:30 p.m., featuring grand marshal Deborah Mansfield and embracing the theme: “A Very Vintage Christmas.” Excitement for the annual Christmas parade started in August when the community was already asking for an application to participate and what this year’s theme was. The love for this holiday season runs deep!
Join the Celebration!
With each parade promising its own unique flair and a touch of magic, it’s a fantastic way for families, friends, and neighbors to come together and celebrate the season. From twinkling lights to sparkling smiles, there’s something for everyone.
Don’t forget, this is just a glimpse of what the Golden Triangle has planned for Christmas parades this year. If you have more to share, feel free to reach out!
