Starkville is buzzing with excitement as the Mississippi State University Extension Center gears up to host a series of free virtual workshops for those eager to dive into the world of municipal leadership! If you’ve ever thought about running for office in the upcoming 2025 elections, now is your chance to learn everything you need to know.

What’s on the Agenda?

The program, aptly named Ready to Lead: A Workshop for Aspiring Municipal Leaders in Mississippi, will feature three enlightening sessions scheduled for November 25, December 19, and January 6, all from 6 to 7 p.m. Whether you’re new to the idea of serving your community or you just want to brush up on your knowledge, these workshops promise to be immensely beneficial.

The official qualifying period for candidates will kick off on January 1, 2025, and if you’re considering throwing your hat in the ring, you need to be aware that the deadline to qualify is just a month away, on January 31.

Mark your calendar! The primary elections are set for April 1, and the general elections will follow on June 3. This timeline means that time is of the essence for anyone looking to step into the spotlight and make a difference in their local community.
