Starkville Developer Invests $350 Million in Mississippi Projects, Eyes Future Growth

Mississippi development project concept

The Starkville-based developer, Mark Castleberry, has invested $350 million in Mississippi projects, starting from small concrete plants in 1992 to becoming a major developer in the state, with investments spanning from Olive Branch to Biloxi.

Castleberry began his career in office furniture engineering after graduating in industrial technology and eventually ventured into the concrete industry when it was thriving due to major projects in motion. He later expanded into property development with Castle Properties, with notable projects like The Mill at MSU and The Village at Madison.

Despite setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic, Castleberry’s projects are progressing well, with Phase II of The Village at Madison expected to hit the market by 2025. Looking ahead, the market in Mississippi shows positive signs, with new developments and investments in the pipeline.

Castleberry’s son, Luke, has joined the business, allowing Castleberry to delegate some responsibilities. While future plans for Castle Properties are yet to be solidified, Castleberry remains optimistic about seizing new opportunities as they arise.
